COVID update 18th Sept16th of September, 2020
Coronavirus - Service information, business support and help for the community.
Let's do it for South Ribble #SouthRibbleTogether
We all have a part to play to help tackle the virus.
Its more important than ever for our residents to still follow general Government guidance to help reduce the spread.
Using simple steps we can reduce our risk of infection and help protect ourselves, our families and our communities. Let's do this for Lancashire.
1. Social distancing is key
As we get the chance to go out and about more, and meet friends and loved ones, we must practice social distancing.
This means keeping our distance from people not in our households or our "bubbles".
2. Wash your hands
We can all help combat the virus by washing our hands thoroughly and regularly for at least 20 seconds.
3. Stay at home if you have symptoms and get tested
If you have a new cough, a fever or have lost your sense of smell or taste, stay at home and get a test. If you're contacted by the NHS Test and Trace, you must follow the advice they give you.
4. Wear a face covering where prompted and applicable
5. Rule of six
From Monday 14 September, you must not meet with people from other households socially in groups of more than 6. This will apply indoors and outdoors, including in private homes.
There will be a limited number of exemptions
- places of worship,
- restaurants and hospitality venues can still host larger numbers in total but groups of up to 6 must not mix or form larger groups
- work settings
- organised team sports
- weddings and funerals (up to 30 people)
